The Sense of Separation

During a film audition, Wakaba and Kurokawa perform a couple on the verge of separation. Asked to improvise, they become lovers reunited after years apart. As memories surface, performance and reality begin to blur, briefly dissolving the distance between them.

Yingjie HE, a director and screenwriter born in Guilin, currently lives between Tokyo and China. He holds a Master’s degree from Musashino Art University in Japan. His works have been selected for festivals such as the Pia Film Festival, Nara International Film Festival, and FIRST Film Festival. His practice spans photography, media art, and narrative cinema, often exploring the subtle gaps between individual consciousness and external reality.
