Where Comes Mulan is a creative documentary exploring the legend of Mulan through memory, tourism branding, and queer embodiment. Beginning with family conversations and official narratives in Huangpi, the film shifts into performance as artist Qiaochu reimagines Mulan’s ghostly presence. Blurring documentary and fiction, the film reflects on gender fluidity, displacement, and the haunting persistence of cultural myth.

Tianyi ZHENG

Tianyi ZHENG (1995, Wuhan) is a Rotterdam-based artist and filmmaker exploring memory and hauntology through moving images. Co-founder of RACCOONS Studio, her films have shown at IFFR, RIFF, and Oberhausen. She received her MFA from the Frank Mohr Institute.
