At the heart of the story is an attempt to explore the issues of forgetting pain and the ability to love and be loved through schizophrenia. Through a specific intimate relationship, the two women are placed in the predicament of patriarchal oppression in contemporary society, awakening and unfolding self-redemption. The time span of one night and the transformation of one man’s thinking are then used to form an exploration of emotional needs and spiritual healing. So, the ending is open-ended.
