Introverted and low self-esteem high school student Xiu Ru follows her mother's past footsteps to work in a factory in Dongguan during the summer holidays, where thoughts of her mother, weak dreams and sentiments give her a sense of security in life. She uses the money she has saved to buy a refurbished mobile phone and starts a farewell diary to record her thoughts in memos. When everything new grows hopeful, her mobile phone is pickpocketed by a middle-aged woman in the first week of school, and the pickpocket inadvertently begins to unravel a shocking secret deep inside her heart.
