Li Xiaofeng and Jiakai began shooting in September 2001 when they moved next to Bao and Ming Ming, whom they had followed for four years. Personally involved in the boisterous and chaotic life of the two women, they play the role of blind guide to the mother and private tutor to the daughter. Through their common destiny full of ups and downs but also love and compassion, they seek to point out the rapid and profound changes that are marking China and leaving enormous problems. Those who are left behind struggle to keep their dignity to live. Plunged into the dark, both literally and figuratively, Bao does not lose faith and continues to fight untiringly.
